Visitors from Kansas today.
22/07/2018 13:16The Lord gave us 4 visitors from Kansas today. It was a blessing to have a young couple, his mum and her sister with us. Please pray for God's blessing as they spend some time in Scotland.
We had good attendance today and a good spirit. I enjoyed preaching on, "Get Your Soil Right" from the parable of the Sower in Matthew 13. It is good for us to remember when frustrated with evangelism that there is a reason why it is seemingly ineffective. Please pray that God will chuck rocks and thorns out of our harvest field. Please also pray for people to get into the field (and off of the roadway) where the seed in being sown. We've love to have unbelievers coming regularly to our church.
God is good. We'd appreciate your prayers for our family as we leave soon on a trip to Germany. We're looking forward to what God is going to do in our hearts this week at Baptist World Mission family camp.
Group outreach....
17/07/2018 14:02It was fun to have 6 of us out doing flyers this morning. Tommy stuck around after our men's prayer time and did flyers with us. Rain came as we were getting started but it didn't impede our progress. We just jumped in and out of the van and did some flats in Loanhead. I had a five minute witnessing opportunity with a 19 year old young man. I asked him why Jesus died and he said, "for our sins." Interestingly, he had heard that God had died for our sins in a contemporary song. After he heard those lyrics it seems he looked it up and realized it was Jesus. I thought he had gotten it in R. E. (Religious Education) class. Please pray for God to turn on the Light for that young man.
Sunday with the Andersons
15/07/2018 13:12God gave us a wonderful Sunday morning. It was a joy to have two children from HBC with us for their first time. We also had 5 other adult visitors with us from a nearby nursing home. That was a special blessing. Pastor Andersons preached a good message from 3 John which unfortunately did not get recorded.
Thank you for praying for our services today. God gave us an encouraging morning.
Day 4 and Day 5
14/07/2018 10:29Wow - what a fun week God gave to us with special blessings every day. The best part of the week is that we had first time visitors every day. In total we had 23 children with a dozen of those being first time visitors. This is not our church location and that attendance was remarkable. I anticipate seeing several of these children in church. Please pray that they will come. They loved HBC and did very well taking in the truth of God's Word.
Yesterday, Pastor Steve Anderson and his wife, Martha, arrived. He will be preaching in our AM and PM services tomorrow. It's been fun to catch up with them as they are dear friends.
Our next big event is our family traveling to Germany for BWM family camp later this month. Please pray for God's great blessing on that week of camp. Dr. Steadman will be preaching.
Thank you for praying for the Auchendinny HBC.
Days 2 and 3
11/07/2018 17:57We are praising the Lord for new visitors each day. God gave us 3 first time visitors yesterday and 4 first time visitors today. Some parents have also stayed for some of the program. The weather has been outstanding and everything has gone smoothly each day. Thank you for praying.
We have begun....
09/07/2018 20:53Our HBC in Auchendinny has begun and we are off to a great start. The Lord gave us a beautiful day, a smooth program, and a great group of kids. I'll put a couple photo's below. Thank you for praying for God to open hearts this week. We are praying for children who will find "grace in the eyes of the Lord" as Noah did. (Our theme is the Ark and Noah's family.)
Encouraged....
08/07/2018 13:05God gave us an encouraging morning. One young lady was back who has been absent for about a month. We've been praying for her and were so pleased to have her with us in church this morning. Holly (13) had her friend who is also 13 at church with her this morning. That was also a wonderful blessing. I preached this morning on "Getting Spiritual Help from God" from Colossians 1:9-11. Paul knew that the young church of Colossae had some needs that only God could meet. We need those things for God as well.
We are on our busy Sunday as we are soon leaving for our afternoon service at the Trust. Please pray for God to do a great work in these folks hearts.
Tomorrow begins our HBC in Auchendinny. One lady called and let us know that she will have her daughter there on 3 of the days. Please pray for many others to come. Thank you for praying for God's blessing on this ministry.
Outreach with Pastor Dillman
04/07/2018 21:38Don and I were able to put out flyers for a couple of hours this morning. The area we were in was very hard. I don't know why. It was a beautiful day but people were not very friendly. Please pray for God's Word to open some of the hearts in that community.
We enjoyed having a bbq and campfire tonight with the Dillmans. The 4th of July is one holiday that is often neglected by us here. It was fun to enjoy some good fellowship and the beautiful evening.
The Sunday night outreach went well. God gave us a fun time and we had a couple divine appointments. A lady texted me this evening and let me know that her daughter would be able to come to 3 of our HBC days next week in Auchendinny. Benson, Kay Lee and Holly helped me put out more flyers in Auchendinny and Loanhead yesterday. Thank you for praying for our outreach.
A good morning....
01/07/2018 13:04We are enjoying a good Lord's day. This morning we began in our teen/adult SS class a study of the book of Romans. We are excited about this book study. I preached a message this morning on Praising God from Psalm 100. We are going to have a prayer and praise service this evening, Lord's Supper, door to door in Auchendinny inviting kids to HBC (9-13 July), and afterwards enjoy a campfire at our home with icecream fellowship. If you want to come, just let us know and we will have a banana split for you. :)
Thank you for praying for our ministry. God gave us a very good morning - Praise His Name!
Wow - the weather is glorious!
24/06/2018 12:51We have had better than average weather this year in Scotland. This week to come is going to be a very summer like week as we will be in he low 70's. This is hot here as our normal day averages in the low 60's and often we are in the upper 50's. Praise the Lord for refreshing weather!
God blessed our day today. I had the joy of listening to a 13 year old tell me that she had gotten saved. I went through the Gospel with her on Thursday. She said that she wants to be baptized. Please pray that God will guard her as a new young believer.
I preached this morning on "Prayer that Makes a Difference" from James 5. God has given us a great weapon to wield for Him. I'll ask you what I asked our church this morning, "Are you making a difference in prayer?"
We've seen God answer prayer this past week. I started the message sharing a story of something lost that God helped us find this week. He also kept the weather for all three of our outdoor events this week. He gave grace to make those ministries fun and not burdensome. He helped us accomplish everything else we needed to do despite a heavier workload. Thank you for your part in lifting those burdens in prayer.
