Upon the first day of the week....

08/11/2020 12:14

Zoom has been a blessing to our church family. I'm thankful that our church has been pretty faithful to these meetings. We are currently studying Proverbs in our 11:00 AM service. Sunday School is a study of Romans at 5:00 PM and tonight I'm preaching from Psalm 2.

We are currently not in lockdown in Scotland. That could change, but we are hopeful that the government will continue with their current management program (tier system.)

I was able to book our special dates of Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Please pray for wisdom for us as we plan these special events. We usually have a Carol Sing Service on Christmas Eve and a Family Film Night on New Year's Eve.

Thank you for praying for our minisry. We had a great start to our day.

Helping move house....

03/11/2020 12:00

It was a blessing on Sunday evening to have 3 children present from the flats which had the fire. Yesterday afternoon Benson and I helped one of those families move into their new home. We praise God for how well He has provided for each family. Please pray for each one as they get settled into their new property.

This morning I was able to get out with flyers. I put flyers through two new housing schemes in Loanhead. Many of the homes this morning were new builds and it is possible they had never received any of our church literature before. Please pray for God to bless His Word to their hearts and that they would be encouraged to watch some of the Gospel videos from The Journey.

Kids, kids and more kids

01/11/2020 21:17

It was great to see a lot of kids in church tonight. Katie collected 7 children from 5 different families this evening and brought them to church. The kids had great enthusiasm. One young lady said she's going to start coming again. Please pray for these children that they won't let anything take them away from church. Please also pray for their salvation.

I don't think I've mentioned that we are trying to do Facebook Live. I don't think we've been successful yet. The video uploaded but I think the signal was intermittent. I'm going to see if I can boos the signal with a booster which we purchased. I'd appreciate your prayers for wisdom how to get it sorted.

I enjoyed preaching a message from Matthew 21:1-11, Donkeys for Jesus. Jesus gave a humble commission to a couple of his disciples and it was to get get a donkey for Him. I enjoyed studying the passage and sharing it with our chruch this evening. Here is an audio link if you're interested in listening in. The video from this evening is still uploadining to sermon audio.

Lord willing, I and 3 or 4 other men will meet for prayer in Blair Atholl on 10 November for a day of prayer. (Englad is going into a one month lockdown this Thursday. However, Scotland is not yet in lockdown.) Please pray for the power of God upon that prayer meeting. Thanks for following along and praying!

Flyers going out....

27/10/2020 12:13

It feels good to be back into a bit of the routine of normal life as I put out flyers yesterday and today. It's also fun to be back in Loanhead. I saw several people I know and enjoyed catching up with them. The Lord also gave me a divine appointment yesterday with a man who fixed an appliance for us. We had a good short chat about the Gospel.

The flyer I'm putting out points people to our Facebook page and the 25 videos we recorded for The Journey. Please pray for people to take an interest in finding these videos and that God will speak to their hearts if they take the time to watch one.

Sunday at the Glencorse Centre

26/10/2020 08:22

God blessed us with good attendance last night and a great spirit as we met together. This was the first time in 6 months that our family has been gathered together with our church (in person.) We are very thankful for God's goodness in giving us a place to meet even though our service schedule was changed.

I preached a message last night on, "The Rules of Engagement" from Luke 4, the temptation of Christ. There are a lot of lessons we can learn from this portion of God's Word about how to victoriously fight against the great adversary.

Lord willing, I will begin outreach this week. (It has been very rainy and it is currently raining.) Please pray for God to use the Gospel literature and for God to give divine appointments.

Backwards Sunday

25/10/2020 12:07

Our Sunday Schedule has been "turned upside down" by the pandemic. Due to meeting in a new location we were only able to reserve an evening time slot. So, for our Sunday AM service on Zoom we studied Proverbs as we normally have recently done for our Sunday PM. Our Sunday School is at 5:00 PM  and our main Sunday service is at 6:00 PM. This final service will be like what has normally been our Sunday AM service. (Are you confused yet?) We are very excited to be meeting together again and look forward to what God will do this evening.

We enjoyed our study from Proverbs 15 this morning. We are about half way through a verse by verse study of the book of Proverbs. It has been a valuable study.

We have a big prayer request for some children who attend our church. At 4:00 AM there was a fire in loanhead in a block of 6 flats. (Like an apartment building.) We have had children attend our church from three of those flats. Katie visited one of these families yesterday and spoke with children from all three flats. The children in these flats attended our church for several years and 3 of them from two flats were supposed to be in church this evening. These are families that we love and greatly desire to see God meet their needs. God spared several lives last night as will be evident from the picture.

Please pray for God's grace and provision for these families.

Final Sunday Before Meeting Again!

18/10/2020 12:26

We are thrilled to be one week away from meeting with our church after 6 months apart. We were unable to meet as a church prior to our departure and the although the church began meeting again about a month ago, we are in a 2 week quarantine.

Our zoom services have been very good and a blessing. However, it will be great to see one another. If you have been praying about the number of people allowed to meet, God has answered that prayer. As long as the government does not put further limitations upon churches, the current rules allow for up to 50 with safety guidelines in place.

I enjoyed preaching a message this morning from Psalm 86 on, Getting God's Ear. David expresses in this Psalm the Bible reasons why he believed God would hear His requests.

We are prayerfully going to begin facebook live next Sunday evening. Please pray for wisdom for us as we use the technology for the first time. Please also pray for God's great blessing as we seek to further promote His Word.

Feeling Normal

16/10/2020 11:37

I think we are finally settling into the routine after being back for a week. The kids are getting back into their schooling and the piano practice has begun again.

We are half way through our quarantine and the treadmill is seeing a lot of activity. The only one not getting exercise is Duchess (our dog) who often goes and looks at her leash. :) The kids are doing well playing with her a bit more as she endures quarantine as well.

We rejoiced to see a new member (physically) born into our ministry this week. Mother and child are both doing well. Please pray for God's grace as this young family adjusts to their new blessing from God. Our church is really excited to have a baby in our congregation.

We enjoyed getting back to our study of Hebrews last evening. Lesson 7 was Entering into God's Rest.

We are enjoying a good week. Thank you for your prayers.

First Lord's Day Back

11/10/2020 12:17

It was a blessing to update our church on our furlough and to spend an hour with them this morning. Of course, it will be better when we can meet in person as our meeting this morning was on zoom.

Two college students from a small Bible college in Edinburgh joined us this morning. It was a joy to get to meet them. They have both visited our services at our new location.

We are only able to meet online for the next two weeks as our family completes our quarantine. Thank you for praying for our ministry.

We are home!!!!

09/10/2020 10:15

God blessed our travels and we are safely back home! Praise the Lord. Thank you for praying for God's grace to do international travel. Now, we have a two week quarantine before we can depart from our home. Hopefully, it will pass quickly and be profitable.

Our flight to Amsterdam could seat 310 people and was only at 10 percent of capacity. Wow - we aren't going to want to go back to normal travel. It is nice to sit wherever you want to sit and to lay down accross three seats with the cabin crew encouraging you to do so.

The Andersons also safely made it back to the USA and are adjusting to the time zone there. We so appreciate their great encouragement to our church family. They will be missed.
