Great outreach weather....

11/01/2022 13:19

High pressure has taken control of things for a little while, which means settled weather. It was a fine morning to get out with Tommy to do outreach. This was our first formal outreach of 2022 and it felt good to get out with flyers. We put out an evangelistic flyer and an information flyer. We didn't have any divine appointments (to our eyes) but we enjoyed fellowship and ministry. Please pray for Tommy as he often struggles with his blood sugar on our outings. He did ok this morning but could have been better.

Our family continues to improve in our health. Thank you for praying.

I forgot to update you on Kay Lee. God worked out some things, as only He can, to get her onto her flights. She also missed her final flight in Chicago, but it only led to just over an hour delay. She is safely back at Ambassaor Baptist College and is excited about the new school year. Thank you for praying for her travels. We're very thankful she was able to be here over her break.

Full Sunday

09/01/2022 13:15

It's great to be back on our normal schedule. This was Katie's first Sunday back at our church location in four weeks. We have not had Sunday in person services the last two weeks. So, it was great to be back together in the house of God!

God gave us a good morning. An unexpected blessing was seeing our two college students from Ireland (Republic and Northern) back with us. We had thought they would be longer away.

I preached this morning on, "Great Christians Needed" from Matthew 20:20-28 where Zebedee's wife asks for positions for her boys in Christ's kingdom. I really enjoyed studying it and sharing it with our church this morning. Being a great Christian is defininitely contrary to human reasoning, but is also very needed.

Back in person :)

06/01/2022 10:27

We were very thankful to be back to in person services last night. This was Kay Lee's first time in our new church location and we are thankful that she was able to attend a service while she was here. Last night I resumed our study of 1 Timothy with lesson 14.

Our family is continuing to improve in our health and we appreciate your prayers for a full recovery. There are still some "symptoms" of illness.

Meanwhile, Lord willing, Kay Lee will head back to Ambassador tomorrow. We appreciate your prayers for God's help for her in travels and in getting back into her college work. Thank you for praying with us.

With regard to the house property of interest to purchase for our church, we continue to ask God for His leading. Please pray with us that God will make His will known regarding this property.

happy new year :)

02/01/2022 16:06

Since this is the first post of 2022, I thought I'd begin with, "Happy New Year!" The Lord has given a couple of witnessing opportunities already. I witnessed to an autistic young man who is frequently out with his camera taking pics. We've seen him for several months and it was good to connect with him. He made an interesting statement, "I want to do something of significance with my life." We were talking about purpose in life and finding out what life is all about. Please pray for God to do a good work in his life.

We had an unusual Sunday as we canceled our services at the centre and just had an online zoom service this morning. Lord wiling, we will be back on our full schedule starting on Wednesday. I preached on, "Christian Growth" from 2 Peter 3:18 "But grow in grace...."

Please pray for our church as we regroup following covid. Everyone is on the recovery side and we look forward to seeing what God is going to do in our church in 2022. Thanks for your prayers.

another chapter....

31/12/2021 16:25

Well, we had another change in plans as we canceled our New Year's Eve service and also moved this coming Sunday online.

Kay Lee tested positive for the virus today. She's had a cough for a few days and so we hope that she will recover in time for her return flight the end of next week. Please pray for God's grace and wisdom.

It's sad to have to cancel these special events, but there is no other option until everyone is well. We hope Kay Lee can attend at least one church service while she is here. We'll see how that works out.

God's good and He continues to encourage our hearts. We appreciate your prayers as we continue to wait on God for healing.

recovered.... :)

30/12/2021 13:55

Thank you for praying for our family regarding our illness. Yesterday we were able to get out and about for the first time and it feels good to be on the recovery side.

Lord willing, we will go ahead with our New Year's Eve film night. We are going to be showing, "The Printing." May God bless you with a very Happy New Year.

Continue prayer appreciated....

28/12/2021 09:53

Thank you for praying for our family as we have had covid. There are times where we think we are getting better and then other times where it seems to come back. We'd appreciate your continue prayers for God's healing hand. Please pray especially for God to raise up Katie as she seems to have had it the worst.

Despite our illness, God has encouraged our hearts regularly. The kids and Katie have enjoyed a lot of table games. Settlers of Catan has had many a noisy play at our dining room table. We've also had some friends and neighbours reach out and be a blessing to us as well. Thank you so much for your prayers.

Please also pray for wisdom for me as I consider God's will for our New Year's Eve film night. I'll need to make a decision on that soon.

Merry Christmas!

25/12/2021 14:33

God blessed us with some sunshine on Christmas day. This was a special blessing as the weather has been pretty drab all week long. We are enjoying our family time with Kay Lee being back home. The current illness has just increased the amount of time we get to spend together.  :)

We are doing much better and thank you for your prayers. Church is canceled tomorrow, but we hope to be back for our New Years Eve film night. Your prayers to that end are welcome.

Praise God for His wonderful gift which is as good today as it was 2,000 years ago.

Isa 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Carol Sing?

23/12/2021 09:56

This has been a week of illness for my family. Katie became ill over the weekend and is still not doing well. Others of us are struggling a wee bit as well. So, your prayers for healing are appreciated as well as prayers for wisdom. We may have to cancel the carol sing which is not what we want to do. We hope that some visitors are making plans to attend on that night and would dearly like to be there for them.

We are enjoying having Kay Lee home. She has to isolate for 10 days and then will be allowed to get out and about. Thanks for taking the requests above to the Lord.

PS. We've now cancelled our carol sing. Katie was covid positive earlier this week, Mac seemed to have a positive test yesterday (very faint line) and just now my test said that I am covid positive. We're doing ok, but appreciate your prayers for our family.

A great start to Christmas

19/12/2021 13:57

God gave us a great start to Christmas as Kay Lee arrived safely home this morning. We praise the Lord for God's provision through a family member for her to come home for Christmas. We haven't seen her since she left for camp this past May.

Our service this morning went well. Katie was unable to attend due to illness. So, we adjusted some things, but still had a good morning. I preached on Luke 2, A Christmas Carol Story. We found the Christmas Carols in the Christmas story and enjoyed focusing on the birth of the Lord.

Yesterday, we viewed a potential church property. It is a house with a decent size garden where we could potentially build an auditorium. Please continue to pray for wisdom. This home is in a very good location. We can afford to purchase it, but we would need to wait on the Lord for His provision to build. Prayer appreciated....
