Door to door....
14/09/2013 16:36Kay Lee was my helper this morning as I did door to door. The Lord gave us one very good opportunity to speak with a young atheist. We chatted for over half an hour and went through a lot of Scripture. The Lord guided and this young man was very kind to listen. He brought up the pope's recent comment that atheists can go to heaven. I showed him Rev. 21:8, Rom. 3:23, and 3:10. The second two verses were to show that the pope is not infallible. Please pray for this young man. I'd love to chat with him further.
The headlines yesterday for BBC Scotland were about a public school where a chaplain was recently removed. The reason was because of his position against evolution and for creation. Please pray for this country. If you want to read the article, please click on the following link.
Thursday night....
13/09/2013 07:46Mark and I had extra prayer time last night. We get to do that when it is only the two of us for the adult Bible study. Although I would love to have had more in attendance, we need this prayer time. The kids had a great class and they really had fun last night. (I know my wife did as well.) They played a Bible game for the last several minutes and there was a lot of "joy" in that room. Thanks for praying for our ministry.
PS. Steve Anderson has come down with this illness. :( Please pray for his speedy recovery and that Martha will continue to be well. They have a very busy schedule.
Great Fellowship!
10/09/2013 18:36The Lord gave us a fabulous time at the pastor's fellowship. It was well attended and there was a great Spirit. We were blessed by the preaching ministry of Steve Anderson and enjoyed a sweet prayer/praise time as well. Thanks for helping us get through the illness this weekend. We believe that God enabled us to get well just in time.
The Lord blessed the ladies meeting last night as Martha Anderson spoke to the ladies. There were seven ladies counting Katie. We're excited about this ladies group.
Thank you for praying.
All clear.... :)
09/09/2013 11:21Well, praise the Lord, it appears like we are out of the woods with this illness. That is a big praise! I wondered yesterday if we were going to have to cancel our ministries today and tomorrow.
We are scheduled to go forward with both ministries. Please pray for the ladies Bible study this evening. Rather than being at our home, we have moved it to a building at the place where we meet for church.
Our pastor's fellowship will be as planned. I have the BBQ going and will be grilling some chicken for that event as I type. (The meat is not on just yet - so no fear that it is going to burn.)
Thanks for your prayers. Please continue to pray for the other families in our church who have illness.
Sickness. :(
08/09/2013 14:35We have had a very unusual Sunday. During the night we realized that Katie and Kay Lee would be unable to attend due to illness. This morning two other families let us know that they were unable to come due to illness. We already knew of another family that wouldn't be coming because they have had colds for over a week.
So, we changed plans for our Sunday and had brother Steve take both hours this morning and have cancelled tonight. The Andersons were headed to another missionaries home in Fife on Tuesday and we just sped things up and got them over there today. Our hope is that they will not get this virus.
Meanwhile, it seems evident that we are going to have to cancel our ladies meeting tomorrow night. I'm not sure right now what to do about the Tuesday Pastor and Wives fellowship meeting. Katie is the backbone behind the organization of that and right now she is really ill.
Will you please pray for wisdom for us and for healing for all who are ill? We know that God's plan is best and He has been very gracious to us today. Thanks for your prayers.
Anderson's are here!
07/09/2013 21:20We are enjoying having Steve and Martha Anderson with us this weekend. Brother Steve is our field administrator with BWM. They arrived last night and will be with us through Tuesday morning.
We'd appreciate your prayers for the kids health just now, especially Kay Lee. We have a bit of a stomach bug. She appears to have it the worst. Please also pray that the Andersons won't get it. We have a busy few days of ministry ahead of us. Brother Steve will be teaching SS and taking the service tomorrow night.
Thanks for taking time to keep up with our ministry.
Kay Lee's B-day.....
04/09/2013 12:05Kay Lee turned 11 yesterday. We had a really fun day. It was the last day of our kids (and Katie's) summer break. Today is our first day of school. I know Katie would appreciate your prayers as they get back at it. We are very thankful that we can school the kids at home. But, it is a lot of work. God has given us great tools and very adequate space which makes it a lot easier.
I put out flyers in a nearby village today. I didn't have any obvious divine appointments but I was able to get several hundred flyers out. Please pray for God to use these and for Him to open doors to speak to people. Thanks for praying.
Brrrr.....:)
01/09/2013 13:35The weather has definitely changed the last few days. I walked this morning in brisk winds and cool temperatures. I enjoy active weather and am glad that our weather here is anything but boring.
God gave us a great day and good attendance despite a change in the weather. We thank the Lord that we have had great attendance the last few weeks. There has also been a sweet spirit in the church. I preached this morning on God's vineyard from Mark 12:1-12. Tonight we are going to look at Saul and Ananias in Acts 9 and observe the Lord's Supper.
Thanks for praying for our ministry today. Please be in prayer for Steve and Martha Anderson who will be with us next weekend. Brother Steve is our field administrator with BWM. He is going to take Sunday School and the evening service. On Monday night (9th) Martha will be speaking at a ladies meeting at our home. On Tuesday (10th) brother Steve will be preaching at a Pastor's Fellowship that our church is hosting. So, we appreciate your prayers ahead of time for these coming ministries.
Back to the USA
29/08/2013 21:08My parents and aunt left early this morning for the States and should be arriving there in the next few minutes. The Lord gave us a very special time with them.
We had a good service tonight. It wasn't huge attendance. But, sometimes the smaller groups are more encouraging. The Lord lets us know that we are right where He wants us and that faith isn't sight. So, we are encouraged. Thanks for praying for us and our ministry.
Into Edinburgh
27/08/2013 21:05The Lord gave us a beautiful weather day today. I went into Edinburgh this morning and did flyers for several hours. The Lord gave me several divine appointments. Please pray for an older man who has indicated that he will be in church this Sunday. I spent about 45 minutes showing him Scripture that salvation is by faith and not by works. Please pray that God will open his eyes.
I was heading out of a garden when I noticed a young man back another way. I felt like the Lord wanted me to speak to him and headed over there. He has just moved to Scotland from Ireland. Although he had grown up Catholic he is now an atheist. But, God gave us a great chat. I gave him a John and Romans. Please pray that he'll read it.
The other good opportunity was with two young atheists from Norway. We spoke for about 20 minutes and one young man in particular was very thoughtful. It was a good platform to encourage them to "seek God."
Thanks for praying for these opportunities. God has given other divine appointments already this week. Thanks for praying for God's guidance and power as we seek to build His church.
